a gunman and two officers were killed. this thursday a memorial is set for hp pa villain in san jose for sergeant loren baker and officer elizabeth butler. that is a change of venue. it's being moved to san jose. they wanted a larger venue. it happened tuesday as they tried to interview a sexual suspect and two days later they discovered a touching memorial. someone had pinned that military purple heart medal on to a teddy bear. an anonymous note explained the bear reflects the community's love for the police and the medal represents sacrifice beyond and above the call of duty. the police chief says the meaning of the medal is deeply understood by the department and will be stored in a safe place. >>> santa clara county held its largest cash funded gun buyback in its history this weekend. $150,000 in cash was handed out in exchange for firearms. each hand gun, shotgun and rifle was worth $200. each assault weapon $200 as well. either way the goal is to get the guns off the streets. from the bay area to around the nation-- >> what if i'm connected

in the 30s and 40s this morning. we'll warm it up up to about the 50s. 37 in santa rosa and san jose, 32-degree, livermore, 38. we've got a nice day on tap for the bay area. today we get highs in the 60s. but the high will migrate closer to the shoreline. as it does, we'll warm well into the 70s this week. the numbers won't set record highs but it will be plenty warm. and the futurecast for today shows a few little watches of clouds stuck to the peninsula. aside are the that, as time marchs on, the clouds melt and we look at a sunny day today. a few clouds drift in later in the day for monday, but for monday, sunday lives up to its name. it looks mighty nice. if you're headed out of the bay area, a few clouds in the central valley. 57 at lake ha -- tahoe. 69 at oakland and 67 in mountain view. extended forecast, sunshine all over the place for the bay area with readings warming into the mid-70s midweek. by next weekend, we'll cool it off a little bit with numbers coming back down into the upper 60s range, but there's not a drop of rain. are we g
